Breaking News – From La V to Asie – New Sushi Coming to DTSP

I had the pleasure of speaking with the manager of La V, Jason Saal, today regarding their newest restaurant concept.  They have procured the venue directly to the right of their current location where Zatar used to be.

Remember when I posted asking what Beercade was going to be, well now we know.  Beercade never came to fruition but the newest Sushi/ Pan-Asian Fusion concept, Asie (pronounced a-zee), will now occupy that space.

The plan is to open up a door sized space between the two restaurants which enables them to obtain a full liquor license which can be shared by both restaurants.  The liquor license opens up a whole new world for them.

Asia, which means Asia in French, keeps their connection to the root of the French colony. Pronounced as {a-zie}, Asie’s menu will be inspired by Eastern cultures connected by a Western touch. Along with fresh and inspired Sushi and Pan-Asian Cuisine, they plan to create a cocktail menu with a unique flair that will blend well with their dishes.  This is so exciting because we have nothing like this in Downtown St Pete currently!

Saal says that they will be offering live music by local bands and artists that will perform on a weekly basis on the stage that they plan for the back of the large space. Also, with the door opening to connect to La V, they will have enough square footage to offer space for big parties, events and private gatherings.

The plan is to have the same late hours as La V (Open Fri and Sat until 2am), and of course an amazing happy hour.  We all love those happy hours!!
