Okay, so I didn’t actually try them all since there are over 100 flavors. Yes. 100.

Larry’s Ice Cream & Gelatos is a St. Pete Beach gem if you’re looking for delicious ice cream, gelato, mini donuts and the friendliest customer service. As a kid, when my family took vacations to St. Pete Beach, we always made our way to Larry’s. It’s grown with the city for generations by continuously adding more desserts, food and drinks to their menu. After a long hot day at the beach, a stop in Larry’s will help cap off the day with a sweet treat and plenty of options.

After enjoying way too many scoops of ice cream, I discovered my favorites. To save you some time when you walk through the doors and see an overwhelming amount of choices, I recommend trying these 3 flavors:

  1. Chocolate Peanut ButterIt’s no secret that I’m a chocolate fanatic. Larry’s had many options for chocolate ice creams but peanut butter won my heart due to the consistency. The ratio of chocolate to peanut butter is PERFECT. Every lick, and sometimes bite, is a mixture of both flavors, completely complimenting each other. The runner up for the chocolate category was Chocolate Almond. A mix that will satisfy your sweet and salty cravings instantly.

2. Caramel Caribou

If you’re a caramel fan, this scoop is for you! The caramel is very over the top, so make sure you’re ready for a sweet, thick, gooey taste. Beyond the greatness of caramel swirl, there are also mini Reese’s Peanut Butter cups thrown into the mix that adds to the fun. The runner up for a vanilla based category was Dulce de Leche.

3. Black Raspberry

I should mention that I typically never go for lighter, fruity ice cream flavors, but I challenged myself to trying as many flavors as possible and truly LOVED this Black Raspberry. The flavor is rich and true to it’s name. The consistency is lighter than chocolate or vanilla ice cream, thus causing it to melt fast so maybe try this scoop in a bowl, it’ll safe your hands from turning purple! The runner up for a fruity ice cream was Raspberry Sherbet, it’s just a little too sweet for me, but still enjoyable.

Larry’s is family-owned and operated, since 1984 with an expanding menu. Though I was there for the ice cream, I couldn’t pass up the mini donuts, my favorite being the French Toast and Samoa. Give this place a visit, or two, or three, to find your favorite flavors!
