When I was growing up my grandma used to cook and bake all of the time.  I was the baker in the family with Grandma.  Before she passed away, she hand wrote her recipes for me and I am going to share them with you.  Some of them are left up for interpretation so I will do my best.

I LOVE Chocolate Pie!! But Grandma Brown's Chocolate Pie...oh my! Simple and delicious!

Ingredients
  

  • 2 cups milk
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 2 squares unsweetened chocolate
  • 5 tbsp all purpose flour
  • 2 large egg yolks
  • 2 large egg whites
  • 1/2 tsp vanilla
  • 1 baked pie crust

Instructions
 

  • Heat milk, sugar and unsweetened chocolate until hot but not to boiling.
    Grandma Brown's Chocolate Pie
  • Add flour to thicken with the egg yolks slowly. Stir until thick.
  • Add vanilla.
  • Pour into baked pie crust.

  • Grandma says, "You can put egg whites on top but I put cool whip on top when I serve it."
