Say Hello to Bandit Coffee While They Steal Your Heart with Their Delicious Brew

Bandit Coffee Co. is a simplistic and inviting cafe that serves all things coffee from espresso to lattes and even some sweet treats. This is the perfect place to sip on great coffee while getting work done or chatting with some friends. Fitting in with all of the local businesses on Central Ave, Bandit Coffee Co. is highly recognizable by its beautiful black and white “Hello St. Petersburg” mural!

The atmosphere is minimalistic with great natural light and plenty of seats. You’ll often find many people grinding on their laptops getting work done. The staff is pleasant and more than willing to answer any questions or provide recommendations.

The first thing to catch my eye inside was their open brew processes right behind the counter. Bandit Coffee Co. brews single origin roasts daily, so every blend is fresh. They even post on Instagram which roasts they have each morning!

They have a specialty menu for the Autumn season that you must try! There’s two choices, a Spiced Maple Walnut Latte and a Masala Chai Latte. Both were fitting for the season with a warm and cinnamon taste. The Spiced Maple Walnut Latte is 10 oz. espresso and milk, walnut, maple syrup, molasses, fennel and rosemary, garnished with allspice and a star anise. The Masala Chai Latte is 12 oz. tea and milk, ginger, cinnamon, green cardamon, cloves, black peppercorn, organic black tea and sugar, garnished with allspice.

You can order them hot or iced and make it vegan with almond or oat milk. I would recommend trying them hot just because its fitting for this chilly time of year in Florida.

I had a major sweet tooth the day I got the Masala Chai Latte and luckily they had a Salted Belgium Chocolate Chunk Cookie calling my name. This was no ordinary cookie, this was a large, gourmet cookie packed with chocolate chunks for every bite. They get these delicious cookies from a local company, Katie’s Goods. You can find her cookies all around town. Yay for supporting the locals!

I have tried a variety of their coffees, hot and cold, but my favorite is the Kilenso from Ethiopia. It’s more of a lighter roast with a sweet and smooth taste to it. This is my go-to if I’m just looking to sip on a good coffee and get some work done. They have a variety of single origin selections on their menu. If you’re not sure about the taste, don’t worry, they have a short description by each one to help you out. Some are fruity and earthy where some taste like chocolate. I’d give them all a try to find your favorite one. They also have espresso, tea, kombucha, cold brew and more! For a small and local coffee shop, their menu is impressive.

There’s something about getting a hot coffee that makes me want a sweet treat. I tried their Cranberry Orange Stone and it was good! It was flavorful from the cranberry and orange pieces, which actually made it taste light and refreshing. Stones always pair well with coffee, in my opinion! This was a nice treat to munch on.
