By now, you’ve probably heard about Baum Ave Market in the heart of downtown St. Pete. Since they make everything egg free, dairy free and vegan, I wasn’t totally sold until I took the first bite and thought, “Wait, this is vegan? How? It’s so good!” Although I’m NOT vegan, if I was, this would be my favorite place on earth to satisfy my plant-based heart. The desserts were exceptional and exceeded my expectations. There is also a Valhalla Bakery and a sister store, Valkyrie Doughnuts located in Orlando if you’re ever in that area.

Valhalla Bakery stole my heart for vegan goodies with their cookies, cupcake, cinnamon coffee cake and more!

Vegan Cookies from Valhalla Bakery
Vegan Cookies from Valhalla Bakery

These vegan cookies were the first thing I tried at Valhalla Bakery and let me tell ya, they were absolutely delicious. Each cookie was unique and so full of flavor, I highly recommend grabbing one of these on your next visit in. If you love chocolate just as much as I do, try the Salted Double Chocolate Chunk Cookie. It’s a chocolate overload in every bite. The Kitchen Sink Cookie with Pecans is also a great cookie. The base of the cookie was delicious and you can tell it was home-made! The toppings are fun with vegan chocolates, a pretzel and pecans. The Lavender Sugar Cookie was more earthy. The lavender taste brought this sugar cookie to a whole new level! These cookies pair perfectly with an iced latte from Intermezzo right next door.

Cinnamon Coffee Cake from Valhalla Bakery

The flavor is just what you imagine it to be and more, full of cinnamon and sugar bites! Trust me on this, if you find yourself uncertain on what to order, this vegan cinnamon coffee cake is beyond delicious and the perfect treat.

The berries and thyme jam from The Urban Canning Co. is a perfect blend of herbs and berries spread on a crisp and sugary galette, topped with cake crumbles. The size of this dessert was impressive and each bite was flavorful and sweet. The berries and thyme jam was so good and fresh, it was the icing on the cake. They also offer a caramelized onion, mushroom and cream cheese galette.

Not only was this cupcake perfectly decorated with champagne colored sprinkles, but it was also absolutely delicious! The frosting was light and smooth and the cake was extremely moist.
