Noble Crust Serves Up a Bounty of Fall Flavors with Some New Menu Items

It’s that time of year. Cool, crisp air. The glory of leaves changing to a kaleidoscope of colors. The smell of smoke billowing from your neighbor’s chimney. Oh but wait, we live in Florida…well, at least, we do have football this year. When it started we weren’t quite sure that would happen.

Well, we may not have that crisp change of seasons that our northern counterparts have, but we still have changing seasonal vegetables and food that can be brought to the table that can still make us feel all warm and fuzzy inside.

Noble Crust has added a few new menu items to their fall/winter menu to help inspire that autumn feeling and we were privileged to be invited to a tasting of the fall lineup so that we could bring those new items to you. The new menu starts tonight. (Don’t worry. All of the old favorites are still there. You can see our last Noble Crust review here.)

When we visited last week, they did not have all of the ingredients for their newest fall drink so I cannot give you my interpretation of the flavors but I am sure you can imagine what the Autumn Crisp tastes like. It is made with Widow Jane Applewood Rye, honeycrisp apple cider, maple-cinnamon simple syrup, lemon + cardamom bitters. Sounds delightful!

We also did not get to try the Southern Potato Soup made with bacon, fresh grated cheddar and scallions, but it sure looks scrumptious and I can’t wait to try it on our next visit.

Brussels Sprouts are back in season and Noble Crust is well known for doing them every year and doing them right. The Crispy Brussels Sprouts this year are made with goat cheese fonduta, agrodolce, citrus, mint, pickled fresnos and spiced crispies and I must say they are divine. Love the brightness that the citrus adds to the mixture and the crunchy of the spiced crispies completes the texture. I was quite pleasantly surprised by the heat on the pickled fresno chiles in the mix. This one is sure to please.

Next up from the appetizer menu was the Crispy Shrimp + Calamari which is rice battered and fried shrimp, calamari and okra served with Bloody Mary Cocktail, mustard aioli, charred lemon and chives. The dish is gluten free, hence the rice batter, and was, much to my delight, incredibly delicious. The batter is seasoned perfectly and I love fried okra, which is so hard to come by around here. The shrimp and calamari were also cooked to perfection.

The farro bowl is not a new addition to the menu, however, the accompaniments are updated for the fall. The Farro Bowl comes with brussels, butternut squash, honey glazed carrots, lime yogurt, avocado and farro rissoto. This dish errs on the healthy side but tastes a bit naughty. All of those gorgeous flavors combine to satisfy any comfort food and fall flavor craving.

Last but not least we had the Bistro Steak which is top sirloin served with bourbon maple brussel sprouts, salsa verde, roasted garlic whipped potatoes and crispy shallots. The steak was delicious and cooked perfectly but I could have screamed from the rooftops at how delectable the mashed potatoes tasted. They tantalized the tongue with their texture, which was slightly chunky, and with the roasted garlic flavor, while seasoned to perfection. And of course the brussels sprouts were to die for. You can’t go wrong with this dish.
