Picture this: a sweet vanilla latte with house-made almond milk, a gluten-free, savory quiche with fresh ingredients, and a perfect outdoor seating area on the corner of the hustling and bustling Central Avenue. Welcome to Craft Kafé. This local cafe sits at a great location in downtown St. Pete with an outstanding gluten-free menu.
Craft Kafé has an extensive drink menu with classic coffee shop options like espresso, cappuccinos, lattes, teas, pour overs and more. Additionally, they have a specialty drink menu with fun flavors to give your typical coffee a delicious kick! There's a variety of milk and flavor options like the house-made almond milk, soy and coconut milk, house-made mocha or caramel, vanilla, hazelnut and a seasonal flavor. Whatever drink you choose, you can't go wrong. Always delicious and just what you're hoping for.
Their food menu is incredible with a quiche of the day, organic salads, sandwiches, omelets, so many baked goods, and more. Everything they serve is gluten-free, and guilt-free (unless you inhale one of their delicious cinnamon rolls in .5 seconds...oops!).
I have a major sweet tooth and always struggle with what kind of baked good to get. Well, sometimes you just have to get them both.
The galaxy bar is a delicious chocolate, nut, and coconut crunchy bar of goodness. The double chocolate chip muffin explains itself, and if you're a chocolate enthusiast, this one is for you. It's moist, not too sweet, and overall delicious. The foxtail is off of the specialty drink menu: an iced mocha latte with almond milk. This "meal" was a lot of chocolate but hey, sometimes you have to indulge! Everything was amazing.
One of my favorite sweet drinks here is the Hot Mom which is an iced caramel latte with almond milk. Simple. Yet delicious. I recommend pairing it with a slice of their generously sized lemon poppyseed cake. You can't go wrong here.
I had enough sweets and couldn't wait to try a slice of their quiche, as everyone seems to rave about it. I understand why now. Their Tomato, Spinach and Feta Quiche of the Day was outstanding. The ingredients were fresh and clean and the texture was fluffy with a delicious crunch from the crust. The serving size was just the right amount for a filling breakfast. I can't wait to try more of their quiches.
If you're stopping by for lunch, you're in luck because they have an exceptional amount of options from organic salads to soups, to sandwiches and pizza slices, and more. I decided to get a warm cup of soup on a cooler day and it was just right. Their vegan tomato basil soup has a pure tomato flavor but not too overpowering. Each spoonful was just as great as the one before it.
Craft Kafé is on our Best Cupcakes List and my favorite is their carrot cake cupcake. It’s the largest on the list and extremely filling. The frosting was thick and creamy. Fun fact: they actually mill their own flour in-house. They also use organic carrots mixed into the batter. There’s also a notable walnut crunch that adds even more excitement to this cupcake.
Another great thing about Craft Kafé is that you can special order an entire quiche, cake, pizza or pie. They are made in-house and the options are great. You'll impress your friends and family at the next holiday gathering if you show up with one of these delicious dishes or sweets! Abby enjoyed a Single Layer Carrot Cake on her birthday this year and said it was "SO GOOD". I bet it was since their carrot cupcake is the best, in my opinion!
The menu here is so impressive. I will continue to recommend Craft Kafé to my friends and family who ask where my favorite coffee shop is in downtown. The baristas are also so friendly, they won't ever judge you for ordering all of the sweets possible.
Craft Kafé is dedicated to creating the ultimate bakery experience without the use of gluten.
