Flatbread & Butter Brings Coffee, Pastries, Booze and Food to Historic Uptown St. Petersburg

A new community-focused coffee shop recently opened in the Historic Uptown neighborhood. This small and quaint coffee shop has a lovely atmosphere and a great aesthetic. Stop in at Flatbread & Butter for a coffee and pastry, and take a stroll around Round Lake right across the street for a great view!

The cool thing about Flatbread & Butter is their drive to keep things local and to provide to the community at all hours of the day. They produce great roasted coffee from Bandit Coffee Co, they serve freshly baked pastries from Mana Bakery and have Mother Kombucha on tap and by the bottle. Their menu is expanding with beer and wine, flatbreads and more! Also, their hours are impressive from 7am-9pm every day.

I’ve stopped in a few times this month and have noticed more and more on their menu each time. They are doing great at serving the community with local and fresh options whether you’re looking for coffee or food!

Iced Coffee with Almond Milk
Cold Brew with Almond Milk

To start like I do every coffee shop blog post, I got my go-to cold brew with almond milk drink. They brew their coffee from Bandit Coffee Co, which is a great spot with unique and flavorful brews, and it hit the spot. You can’t go wrong with this cup of iced coffee!

Latte with Almond Milk and Pastry

Their latte was delightful and ideal. The perfect amount of foam to coffee ratio. This generous cup made the drink feel never-ending (a good thing!). I prefer almond milk with my coffee simply because I like how it tastes. If you prefer regular milk, it’ll be more creamy and thicker- your preference.

Strawberry Mascarpone + Lemon Scone - Mana Bakery
Strawberry Mascarpone + Lemon Scone – Mana Bakery

I’ve shared this scone before at Bandit Coffee Co and it never fails to be just as delicious every time. Mana Bakery provides sweets to a variety of local shops around town, and luckily Flatbread & Butter is one of them. The size of the scone is impressive and each bite is tasteful with bits of strawberries here and there. Just trust me on this, pair any scone here with your favorite coffee and you’ll be one happy camper!

Chai Latte with Almond Milk

I’ve been on a chai latte kick lately and I think it’s because they are so comforting and smooth to drink. Their chai latte is perfect. The sweetness of the cream and the spice of the cinnamon make this drink a definite must try for all chai latte lovers.

Cinnamon Cruffin from Mana Bakery

What is a cruffin you might ask, well it’s a croissant and a muffin! Although this was very hard to eat, I made a mess and my fingers were sticky, it was definitely worth it. From a croissant point-of-view, the flakey and buttery inside was just right. The cinnamon adds so much flavor that you just can’t go wrong with this one.

Mother Kombucha Blue Rose and Blueberry Scone

Looking for something refreshing? Flatbread & Butter has Mother Kombucha on tap and in bottles. I got the Blue Rose on tap which is a sweet drink with blueberries, hibiscus, schizandra berry and rooibos tea. All you need to know is that it was delicious, and it’s one of their most popular brews. I was (obviously) looking for something sweet to eat so I got another scone from Mana Bakery, but this time it was blueberry. I have to say, the blueberry is now my favorite one! That’s just a personal preference since I love blueberries, hence the blueberry flavored kombucha and scone together.

Funghi and Margherita Flatbreads
Funghi and Margherita Flatbreads

The moment you’ve all been waiting for! Flatbreads! They are a great size and depending on your appetite you can eat one by yourself or split it with a friend. The Funghi has caramelized mushrooms and onions, mozzarella, Parmigiano- Reggiano, and balsamic. This one was flavorful and had a mild sweet taste to it. The Margherita is just what you expect, San Marzano tomatoes, fresh mozzarella, basil, arugula and olive oil. You can add pepperoni or ham for $0.75 too. I liked this one, it was good and fresh but the arugula was more than I like. Overall, they are simple flatbreads with fresh ingredients and you can’t go wrong with either of them!

Stay tuned to more menu items coming soon! They regularly post on social media little snippets of what they’re working on. Flatbread & Butter is another gem in St. Pete where the locals can come together for coffee and food that’s refreshing and divine.
