When I was growing up my grandma used to cook and bake all of the time.  I was the baker in the family along with Grandma.  Before she passed away, she hand wrote her recipes for me and I am going to share them with you.  Some of them are left up for interpretation so I will do my best.

Grandma Brown's Butterscotch Pie
Butterscotch is one of the few flavors that completely takes me back to being a kid. This pie is absolutely scrumptious!

Instructions
  1. Brown butter in a skillet - this is important for the flavor.
    Grandma Brown's Butterscotch Pie
  2. Add brown sugar and milk.
  3. Next add a thickening of flour and egg yolks combined.
  4. Cook until thick.
  5. Add vanilla.
  6. Pour in pie shell and top with whipping cream.
