The Independent Bar, a downtown St Pete institution, will be adding an Outdoor Café to its location at the corner of Central and 11th St. in the EDGE District.
“We are very excited to bring our Café fare to The Edge District. We have been planning this expansion for two years, and now we have found a way to implement it. I believe our menu will complement the other popular Edge District restaurants and cafes and will provide our customers with great food options.” – Veronica Danko, Proprietor
Danko plans to create a walk-up outdoor Café and biergarten in the coming weeks just in time for St Pete’s “Chamber of Commerce weather”. Aside from a few pop-up vendors, food has been a missing factor in the Independent experience. The St. Pete Indie plans to follow the route of its sister bar in Tampa’s Seminole Heights neighborhood. The menu will feature popular Tampa Indie Café dishes that focus on affordable, quality and fresh options. Charcuterie and cheese platters, sandwiches, and the addition of european beer-centric favorites like Belgian Pomme Frites, pierogi’s and specialty sausages will be featured on the menu. The St Pete Indie will also feature an impressive selection of vegetarian and vegan items, like the Tampa location.
The menu is still in the final planning stages, but stay tuned to social media for café opening announcements and events!
Opening date to be announced as it comes closer.
