Interview with David Benstock from IL Ritorno, Greenstock, and St. Pete Meat & Provisions
Welcome to the St. Petersburg Foodies Podcast Episode 124! On today's episode, we interview David Benstock. He is the Co-Owner and Executive Chef of IL Ritorno, Greenstock, and St. Pete Meat & Provisions. He just got back from breaking down a pig at Olivor Heritage Farms, which we had the porterhouse for dinner the other night, and it was the best pork we've ever had. We have some great conversations, and a couple of surprising answers. We talk about how chef makes his pomodoro sauce, a big name TV chef that he disagrees with on how to salt pasta water, and you'll definitely be surprised at his answer to: "If you weren't cooking Italian food, which type of cuisine would you be cooking?" Listen to find out the answer! At the top of the show we have Abby Allen with her new recipe for a slightly healthier version of Zuppa Toscana, and boy is it so delicious!
